hey Ryan!! what an amazing experience!!! If you can do this you can do anything!!! When I read our stuff, your writing reminds me of your mothers. You should write a book about this when you return to the states. What do you miss the most...steak and a baked potato or a toilit that flushes? take care! Cindy
Good luck continuing to understand Wolof. I have a very good picture of what probably happened when you were speaking to the store owner. Believe me, you did much better than if I was forced to do something like that...in English. About the t-shirt thing, maybe it is time you mixed it up just a tad. Just think, if you wore a blue shirt they might it is a totally different person coming out of Ryan's room. Just got back from California a few hours ago. My sister had a beautiful wedding that was a lot of fun. Personally I am proud that I didn't mess up while doing my reading in the mic in front of all those people. The things I do for the people I love. Anyways, know that you are missed and take care. Excited to hear what this next week has in store for you. Tamara
What I miss the most, right now, is a cheeseburger. Our protein consists of fish, goat, and mutton. Beef and Chicken are a delicacy, which is the opposit of the US, and I usually don't get enough, so I'm filling up on empty rice and other empty carbs. I can make a turkish toilet flush. I get a bucket full of water, stand back, and then dump the water into the toilet and it all goes away, usually down the hole. Welcome to Africa!
Tamara, I'm glad you had fun at the wedding. I know it's hard to speak at wedding. As for the t-shirt, I wore a gray one the next day and went around and made sure my family noticed. I can't believe they though I only had one
Okay Ryan..there's a pkg. on the way w/ some colored tee shirts in it. Mix it up! Tell them your rich American mother sent them to you. You've mastered turkish toilet l0l. How much in college loans do you have outstanding?! Your diet sounds uninteresting. And to think, you used to love to go to red lobster for seafood! The interview w/ the shopkeeper was difficult, I'm sure. I like how you went back until you got it done right. Beware the mango ladies! Mom
